Catholic School day.

On Catholic Schools Day St Pius School invited St Joseph from Orakei over to come and celebrate Catholic School’s Day.

In the morning we had a Mass and that was followed by lunch and a concert, We all went into the hall to share our items. Room Seven went first and they sang “Let It Go’. After that it was the st Joseph turn to  do a dance or a song so they did a song called “ You can Count on Me”  by Bruno Mars. Some songs came from St Pius X school and some from St Joseph’s.

We finished the concert singing the African song so that the St Joseph’s people could go out and go back to school. When we finished singing we all went back to class.

i had a wonderful day with St Joseph’s it was the best day ever.

Similes and Metaphors
A simile is where two things are directly compared because they share a common feature. The word AS or LIKE is used to compare the two words. Eg. As cold AS a dog's nose
A metaphor also compares two things, but it does so more directly WITHOUT using as or like. Eg. The shop was a little gold-mine.
Task One
At the end of the sentence, write in brackets whether the sentence is an example of a metaphor or simile.
Eg. The clouds were fluffy like cotton wool. (SIMILE)
